Painting practice:
This is some practice for Painting class.
There are many of those little black birds in Aberystwyth. I notice them this morning when I was returning from the Supermarket and I captured with my eyes one of them in a nice picture. A really green grass in a rainy day and this black bird with its bright orangey beak.
I usually get bored with themes like birds or flowers but, I found its contrast and colour really beautiful to the eye :) Besides it's just for practice. Here it is:

Pawel Kuczynski: A brilliant mind.
Pawel Kuczynski
Pawel Kuczynski is a Polish artist that specializes in satirical illustration. Born in 1976 in Szczecin, Poland, he graduated with a graphics degree from the Fine Arts Academy in Poznan.
Pawel has been focusing on satire since 2004 and has garnered nearly a hundred prizes and distinctions since then.
Much of his artwork deals with serious themes such as poverty, greed, politics and mortality. While his subject matter is stark, his illustrative style is whimsical and cartoonish.
This provides great contrast and makes his work interesting to analyze.

Illustration: Learning from life drawing
First some 30-seconds quick sketches, then a 3 hour sketching of the model. Learned so much that day.
Start with anatomy. Learning how to relax your muscles, to draw using your arm instead of your wrist, and trying to feel the energy of the model's body. Look at the way she stands as a whole figure, and not precisely at all the details. To understand what her body is telling you. Learn the body language. As I was drawing her, I realize how my mind works and what it does to confuse me when I am trying to convey reality to the paper. As you try to draw every single detail from the beginning of your process, your brain does not look the whole picture and he cannot find the right relation between the parts of the body. ..and somehow you end up with a big-head girl and a paraplegic foot.
So you have to look at it as a whole picture. Sketch it as a quick figure, with other words, draw your first impression of what you see. You can then focus on the details : )
Mine were more like caricatures.
